Want to learn how to turn your spare change into a viable income? Selling items on ebay that I bought at thrift stores for a dollar or less has made me hundreds of dollars! All you need is some spare change, a local thrift store, and a passion for a certain product (books, cds, etc.).

1. Open an Ebay account if you don't have one already, and spend some time browing the ebay help boards of your choice- there are ones for every topic, from books to car accessories. Begin to gain knowledge about what sells and what doesn't on ebay.
2. Go to a local thrift store and browse the merchandise. One man's junk is another one's treasure, and quite often, people throw away valuable items because they don't know their worth.
3. Review your items on ebay, come up with a reasonable price, and stick it up for auction. Start with a low starting bid, which will save your insertion fees and help bidder's confidence when bidding on your item.

Tips & Warnings

• Pick a topic that you are interested in. I chose books, and have found books for $.50 that I sold for $68.
• Find out what is rare in your topic. Do a closed auction search with a minimum price to find out what items sold for more money.
• Have patience, it takes a little effort to get the ball rolling, but once you start and gain some experience, you are bound to make money.
• Come to a thrift store prepared with a list of items or specific topics that are worth money in your general topic.
