Cash back credit cards, also known as reward credit cards, allow you to earn cash back on purchases. The lower the annual percentage rate (APR) on balances carried forward, the higher that your credit standing needs to be in order to qualify for the card. If your credit is history is limited or needs some improvement, you may still be able to get a cash back card.

Things You’ll Need:

Step1
Get a debit card to help establish credit history. See Resources below for information on using debit cards to improve credit history.
Step2
Apply for a card such as Capital One, which is designed for people with limited credit history, or credit that needs some improvement. See a link below in Resources for a link to Capital One’s application webpage.
Step3
Make sure that pay on time. The first timely payment will be reported to credit agencies. This will give you an instant credit rating.
Step4
Make sure that stay well below credit limit. By remaining below your credit limit, you will make a positive effect on building your credit score. They may increase your credit limit after several months of timely payments. If not, you can request an increase if needed.
