For the last ten years, the Children of the Dump has helped in the elimination of children and families living in the municipal dump. Our mission has always been to help the poor children living in and around the city dump in Puerto Vallarta; specifically to help them GET AN EDUCATION. Our goal was to get them to school, keep them in school and help them learn so that they would have an opportunity for a better job and a better life. Our mission has not changed in the 10 years of operations; we are dedicated to helping these children realize the promise of a better life. Today, we feed breakfast, lunch and hot meals after school, to 2,300 children each school day. We have after school classes for 250 children from grades 3 to 6. And we operate 9 day care centers, each with a capacity of 25 children ages 3 ½ months to 3 ½ years. This is why we need your help.
