How to Get Rid of Most Pesticides on Fruits at Home

You are concerned about helping the earth but mostly about keeping your kids healthy. You have learned about the benefits of organic foods but you just cannot afford them. Here is what you can do to at least remove most of the pesticides that are found on fruits and vegetables.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • A Measuring cup
  • 1 TSPB Baking Soda
  • 1 Cup of water
  • 1 Cup of White vinegar
  • 20 drops or grapefruit seed extract
  • 1 Spray Bottle

Step1
Mix ingredients together in a bowl or cup.
Step2
Pour mixed ingredients in spray bottle.
Step3
Spray on clean vegetables and fruits.

on 5/15/2008 This is good to know: You wouldn't believe what ends up on our fruit. Here in Oregon we have the Hood River Valley, where there are alot of orchards. Someone told me that they spray floor wax (!) on the apples to make them shiny! Can you believe that? Even soap and water won't take it off, if you wash a apple and it has this white mottling left on it....it might be floor wax.
