This article will will explain how to hookup 2 VCR's to one channel on your TV.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 3 Coaxial Cables
  • 1 or 2 RCA A/V cables
  • 2 or more VCR's with coaxial and RCA Inputs and Outputs
  • A TV that is VHF/UHF compatible, with at least 1 RCA A/V Input
  1. Step 1

Take 1 coaxial cable, and run it from one VCR's coaxial In From Ant port, and run it to a coaxial wall jack, or an antenna.

  2. Step 2

Run a coaxial cable coming from that VCR's Output, to the other VCR's Input.

  3. Step 3

Run a coaxial cable from that VCR's Output, into a coaxial VHF/UHF Input in your TV.

  4. Step 4

Depending on how many free RCA A/V Inputs your TV has, you may run an RCA A/V cable coming from any, or both, VCR RCA A/V Outputs, into an RCA A/V Input in your TV.

Tips & Warnings
  • To switch between the use of each VCR while they are both on, press the TV/VCR button on the VCR that you want to keep on and not use, and turn the other VCR on, on VCR mode.
  • Another way to use both on the same channel is by turning one VCR off, and turning the other one on.
  • Be sure to use screw-on coaxial cables, since there will be less interference, than with a push-on coaxial cable.
  • Note that both VCR's now control your TV.
  • If you do not get a picture, make sure that you have not connected anything In to In, or Out to Out. It can only go Out to In, or In to Out, or else it will not work.
