How to Make Black Skin Whitener

This recipe was found in an old Chemical Formulas Manual written in the year 1907. I changed the title of the product to read "Black Skin Whitener." However, if you were to find another copy of this book, you will find the title to read "Skin Bleach For Negroes" and I quote!

Things You’ll Need:

• Option One:
• Yellow Wax 8oz
• Petrolatum 8oz
• Cocoa Butter 2oz
• Option Two:
• Paraffin Wax 6oz
• White Petrolatum 1 pound
• 2% Solution Bichloride of Mercury 1 pound

1. This article is in "no way meant to insult" the reader thereto. It's intended to inform, and educate, and that is all!
2. Referring to (Option One) in the (Things you will need section) of this article, do the following:
   
   Melt all ingredients together in a double boiler. Take off the fire and add a solution of 10 grains of corrosive sublimate in one ounce of alcohol and pour into jars while warm.
   
   This may be used before retiring (before going to bed). First wash the face, neck and arms with a good soap and hot water. Rinse well and dry; then apply the cream.
   
   In the morning wash off and apply a good powder. Do this at least every other day.
3. Referring to (Option Two) in the (Things you will need section) of this article, do the following:
   
   Melt the waxes, take off the fire and add the heated solution, a little at a time, stirring well until cold.
   
   Wash the face well and after drying apply the cream. Use before retiring (before going to bed)
