Fresh pineapple is divine, but it seems impossible to choose the right one. Here's how to pick it perfect every time.

Instructions

Step 1

First, the obvious. Pick one that looks good: no funky discoloration, wilty leaves, or mushy spots.
Step 2

Smell the bottom of the pineapple. It should smell sweet just like a pineapple.
Step 3

Pluck a leaf. You should have to tug a bit, but not really need a whole lot of force.
Step 4

If your pineapple meets all of the aforementioned requirements, take it home and enjoy!
