1. First, the obvious. Pick one that looks good: no funky discoloration, wilty leaves, or mushy spots.

2. Smell the bottom of the pineapple. It should smell sweet just like a pineapple.

3. Pluck a leaf. You should have to tug a bit, but not really need a whole lot of force.

4. If your pineapple meets all of the aforementioned requirements, take it home and enjoy!
