Gas 1.01 is a small list of simple steps you can take at the gas station to maximize the amount of gas you get for your money. I previously worked as a fuel broker for the nations largest unbranded bulk fuel distributor. During my first 8 months with the company I sold over $12,000,000 in product. The lesions I learned while working on the wholesale level have helped me save money at the pump every month, I would like to share these tips so you can save too.

1. Always pump gas at the slowest speed possible, the slower you pump gas the less air will get into the pump line, and at a US average price of $3.50 per gallon of regular I don't think any of us want to pay for air, rather than gas.
2. Always pump gas during the coolest part of the day, petroleum products expand with heat and retract when it is cooler, when you pump gas from noon to 3pm you will pay for the expanded molecular structure of the product and actually get less product than you pay for.
3. NEVER EVER pump to an the next highest dollar amount, stop pumping gas when the pump kicks off the first time! You will get more air then you will gas when you are attempting to get to the next higher number.
