How to Control Your Time Wisely How to Control Your Time Wisely

Recently, I have noticed that I spend way too much time on the internet checking email, answering emails, forwarding emails, reading interesting articles, looking at beautiful photographs, and at the end I have not accomplished what I want to do. Through trials and errors, I set out to learn how to control my time to be more productive.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • note book
  • pens or pencil
  • determination
  • flexibility

Step1
Make a list of tasks that must be done, and give them an appropriate length of time to get done. For example: checking emails, answering emails, or forwarding emails should be done in 30 minutes in the early morning. If you are in a business where you have to check it regularly, then make it three times a day, and about 20 minutes for each session.
Step2
Once you had a schedule, it will serve as a reminder, and keep you moving forward to different tasks. Having it written down also allow your subconscious to work in the background, and help you focus.
Step3
Remind yourself to step out of your working zone to relax. Go outside, and practice breathing. By taking as little as five minutes, your mind can get sharper, less stress, and circulating fresh oxygen into your body.
Step4
Allow for the unexpected, and be flexible. Sometimes things happen, such as when your child's school calls to pick up your sick child.

Having a schedule ready will only help you control your time wiser. I usually set my goal for the week, and my daily schedule stays the same. When unexpected things happen, I adjust and mix my chores up to work accordingly.

Tips & Warnings

  • My daily schedule looks like this: 6:00 to 6:30---Email business
  • 6:30 to 7:30---Reading
  • 7:30 to 8:30---Breakfast and take the children to school
  • 8:30 to 9:00---Exercise
  • 9:00 to 12:30---Write

on 8/22/2008 I particulary liked #3 & #4. Once I sit down to the computer it seems like I am glued there unless someone drags me away. A breather sounds like a wonderful idea.
