First thing to do is go through every room in your house and pick up furniture, decorations, clothes and kitchen items you do not want. Then pick a weekend where rain is not expected. Go to your local grocery store and pick up garage sale signs, price stickers, permanent markers and stop at the bank for change. Next make an inventory list so the morning of the garage sale goes smoothly.
Step2
Next figure out which street corners you need to put signs out on. Make sure to map it out the night before your garage sale. Also pricing everything before your garage sale helps out a lot. Always price your items more than you plan to sell them for. People will try and deal with you. Plan to open early. Around seven in the morning is a good time. Make sure to clean out the garage in case rain comes out of the blue.
Step3
On the morning of the garage sale, wake up at 6 and run around and put signs up. Then get your tables and start setting up your inventory. For a little extra cash buy some cool sodas and sell a can for a buck or so. If garage salers have been out all day in the hot sun, they will be dying of thirst. Remember, they have money or they wouldn't be stopping by.
