Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Things You’ll Need:
- 8 oz/225 g butter, softened, plus some for greasing.
- 1 1/2 cups of self rising flour
- 1tsp of baking powder
- 1 tsp of unsweetened cocoa, plus some extra for dusting
- big 1 cup of golden superfine sugar
- 4 eggs, beat them!
- 3 tbsp of instant coffee powder dissolved in 2 tbsp of hot water
- For the frosting...:
- 4 oz/115 g of white chocolate broken into pieces
- 2 oz/ 55 g, butter, softened
- 3 tbsp of milk
- 1 3/4 cups of confectioners sugar
Step1
First things first, make sure to preheat your oven to 350 degrees F. Grease (and if you want) line the bottom of a baking pan.
Step2
Put the flour, baking powder, and cocoa in a bowl and add the butter, superfine sugar, eggs, and coffee. Beat it well, and make sure it's smooth! Then put it into the pan and smooth the top of it.
Step3
Bake for 35-40 minutes or wait for it to rise and firm. Let cool for 10 minutes. If you lined your pan peel off the lining and let cool.
Step4
For the frosting, put the chocolate, butter, and milk in a bowl and put over simmering water and stir until the chocolate has melted. Remove the bowl and put the confectioners sugar into the mix. Beat it until it's smooth then spread it all over the brownies. Sprinkle the extra cocoa over the top and cut!
