Things You'll Need:

  • time
  • patience
  • understanding
  1. Step 1

    Take a required Tutor Training Class. These classes are free of charge and are offered on a monthly basis.

  2. Step 2

    Following the completion of your Tutor Training class, you will be matched with a learner. You must meet with your learner for at least an hour each week. You must commit to tutoring your learner for at least a year.

  3. Step 3

    Work with your learner on functional literacy skills. Patience and understanding are an important part of being a successful tutor.

  4. Step 4

    Have fun!
