Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Things You’ll Need:
- H2Ocean tattoo products
- sunscreen stick
- mild soap
- water
- soft cloth
- gentle fragrence free lotion
Step1
When you get home, remove the bandage that was applied before you left. With the mild soap, wash your hands first, then get a warm (NOT HOT) lather in your hands.
Gently rub your tattoo with the soap for a few seconds and rinse if possible with warm water. If you can't rinse, use a second wet soft cloth to blot it clean.
Step2
Pat dry. DO NOT RUB DRY!!! You could possibly pull out some ink, it could then turn out blotchy :(
Step3
Head for your after care product. I mentioned H2Ocean, because it is my favorite. The tattoo care they provide comes in a can, and looks like foam or mousse for your hair. Shake and squirt some in your hands and pat on your tattoo. Put enough on that it saturates the tattoo, but dries somewhat quickly. Do not rub in.
Step4
Do this several times a day, or as directed (not washing every time, just that initial wash... then just a shower with the gentle soap will suffice after that)
Your tattoo should heal within a couple of weeks, depending of course on size, color and placement.
Step5
while its healing, it is important to try to keep it out of direct sunlight, as this can fade the art work.
Also, do not remove any scabs or "crusties" that gather on it. This is your skin healing, and you can also pull out ink doing this... again, it could potentially turn out blotchy. Let them go on their own :)
Step6
After its healed, it is good practice to regularly apply lotion and sunscreen to it. I recommend the stick kind of sunscreen, you can find it anywhere. Its easy and compact, and not messy at all! Just a quick rub and your good to go!
