Clipart from freeclipartnow.com.

Here's a tasty and good-looking cookie to take to the holiday cookie exchange, yet is easy enough for a child to make! These cookies make a great "I did it myself!" holiday teacher gift! The only ingredients you need are candy canes and a tube of refrigerator sugar cookie dough.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • tube of sugar cookie dough
  • candy canes
  • ziplock bag
  • towel
  • hammer
  • cookie sheet
  1. Step 1

Preheat oven according to the directions on the cookie tube.

  2. Step 2

Unwrap and slice the cookie dough. Arrange the slices on the cookie sheet.

  3. Step 3

Unwrap a couple of candy canes and place them in a ziplock baggie. Wrap the baggie in a towel and use a hammer to crush the candy canes. Sprinkle the crushed candy canes on top of the cookie dough. Gently press the candy into the dough.

  4. Step 4

Bake until done, according to the directions on the package.

Tips & Warnings
  • Refrigerator cookie dough cooks quickly, sometimes faster than the directions indicate; be sure to watch it carefully so it doesn't get too brown.
