I saw These frozen treats on the Rachel Ray show. They are a healthy alternative to ice cream or popsicles.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Ingredients
  • 4 bananas, peeled and cut in half widthwise
  • 1 cup strawberry or other fruit preserves
  • 3/4 cup granola, any kind your kids like
  • 3/4 cup walnuts or pecans
  • 8 popsicle sticks
Step1
Heat the preserves in a high-sided bowl in the microwave until it thins out. Pierce the banana through the center of the cut side with a popsicle stick. Dip the banana into the strawberry preserves until it's completely coated.
Step2
Place the granola and nuts on separate plates. After dipping the banana into the preserves, coat it in the nuts or granola, whichever you prefer.
Step3
Make the coating stick to the banana by pressing it in lightly with your hands. Place coated bananas on a small sheet tray lined with wax paper and pop them into the freezer until ready to eat.

on 7/10/2008 Good idea, I bet you can hardly even tell its not ice cream since the banana is so cold.
