Chocolate sauce does not have to be complicated. While there are different ways to make it, it qualifies as chocolate sauce as long as it can be poured. This version is light enough to pour over ice cream. Does this Spark an idea?

Things You'll Need

  • 2-1/2 squares unsweetened chocolate
  • 1/2 cup cold water
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • Dash of salt

Instructions

      Break the chocolate into pieces and put them in a small saucepan. Add 1/2 cup of water.

      Warm the chocolate directly over medium heat for 4 minutes or until the chocolate melts.

      Remove the chocolate from the heat. Add the sugar and salt. Return the chocolate to the heat and cook it for another 4 minutes.

      Cool the sauce before using it over ice cream.
