This is a quick and easy recipe for making a low calorie and nutritious fruit dish.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 - 20 oz. can of crushed pineapple.
  • 1 - .09 oz. (small pkg.) Sugar Free Butterscotch pudding.
  • 4 medium Red Delicious Apples.
  • 1 - 8 oz.container of Non-fat Whipped Topping
  1. Step 1

Combine in a large mixing bowl: 1 - 20 oz. can of crushed pineapple and
1 small package of Sugar Free Butterscotch pudding. Stir thoroughly.

  2. Step 2

Core and chop 4 medium Red Delicious apples into bite size pieces.
    Add to pineapple/butterscotch pudding mixture.

  3. Step 3

Add 1 - 8 oz. non fat whipped topping to mixture and stir thoroughly.
    Keep mixture refrigerated.

Tips & Warnings
  • Optional additions: 1/2 cup raisins and/or 1/2 cup chopped walnuts. This seems to give the dish a texture and flavor more closely related to a real caramel apple!
  • The whipped topping can also be reduced to only 4 oz. This helps cut calories and does not affect the outcome of the dish.
  • The caramel apple dish should be eaten within just a few days, due to the breakdown of the whipped topping turning into liquid if left in the refrigerator too long. This shouldn't be a problem since the caramel apple dish has never lasted that long at my house.
