How to set up a POP account

Set up your Gmail account with Outlook express.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • A gmail account and outlook express.

Step1
Open outlook express, then click tools and then click accounts.
Step2
Then you need to click add, Email account then click next.
Step3
A pop up will appear, enter your display name EX.John Smith.
Step4
Next enter you Email adress and click next.
Step5
"Incomming server type" put it on pop3. Pop3 server type in pop.gmail.com, smtp server type in smtp.gmail.com and click next. Do not click "log on useing secure password authentication."
Step6
On the next screen type in your user name and password. click next then click finish. when it tries to connect click stop and close the box that pop'd up. Go back to tools then accounts you will see the account you just created click on it once and then click properity's.
Step7
Click servers and the last box that says my server requires authentication. Next click advanced. the box that say's smtp should have a 25 in it. the pop3 box should have a 995. under pop3 check the ssl box.
Step8
click ok and then send & recieve. your done.
