If you need to obtain product (wine) for auction, you will need to contact family, friends, and local wine stores to see if they would be willing to donate x amount of bottles to your auction. If it is your own collection, you are ready to go. You can also contact a wine club to see if they have any specials as a way to help them advertise.

Step 2
Identify if you are having a silent wine auction or traditional wine auction. A traditional auction is where everyone is seated before auctioneer and people bidding are heard and seen. Silent aucion has the wine on s tsble with piece of paper out and people continue to out bid each other until close. Person with winning bid is then announced.
-
Step 3
Prior to bidding, make sure description of wine is very detailed and accurate. Include stated market value, if desired. Start bidding of bottle of wine at a reasonable or appealing amount.
-
Step 4
Identify how many people you will have in attendance and locate a proper facility to host your wine auction.
-
Step 5
Advertise your auction by email all family and friends, send out flyers, take out ad in your local papers. Explain why this wine auction will be spectacular.
-
Step 6
There are several websites that you can post add for your wine auction for free: craigs list, my space and facebook are a few.
-
Step 7
Have fun and good luck. Your wine auction should be a great success.
