Is static making your hair out of control? It can be frustrating when your hair won't stay flat and is full of static electricity. Here's how to remove hair static.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Buy some unscented dryer sheets from your local grocery store. When your hair develops static, run a sheet over your hair until it smoothes out.

  2. Step 2

Increase the humidity in your living area. Static hair becomes more of a problem in a dry environment. Try installing a humidifier.

  3. Step 3

    Avoid using hairspray.

  4. Step 4

Don't use a hairbrush made of metal since it can carry a charge that can make static hair worse.

  5. Step 5

Use a leave in conditioner to weight your hair down.

  6. Step 6

Use a special shampoo designed to reduce static. One example is Brandywine Non Static shampoo. (see resource list)
