One of the best exercise to increase metabolism and speed up weight loss is to walk at a continuous fast pace for 20 to 40 minutes a day, 5 days per week. Any exercise that will get your heart rate to 60 - 70% max rate (fast enough to talk while exercising but not sing) and last a minimum of 20 minutes is considered aerobic and is great for increasing the metabolism.
Aerobic exercises whether cycling, walking, jogging, sports that require continuous motion will work. The real issue is to make exercise a part of your daily life. Make time each day to exercise and try to make it fun.
Walking at a fast pace for 30 minutes gives you time to reflect on life plus it's easy to do everyday.
do not do more than you feel comfortable with. Everyone has different limits.
