Make Taco Seasoning Mix

Ever wonder what alternatives you have to regular store-bought Taco Mix? Well I have a way to make your own that really gives your meat a perfect taste!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1/4 cup dried minced onion
  • 1/4 cup chili powder
  • 3 Tbsp salt
  • 4 tsp cornstarch
  • 1 Tbsp dried minced garlic
  • 1 Tbsp ground cumin
  • 1 Tbsp crushed red pepper flakes
  • 2 tsp beef bouillon granules
  • 1 1/2 tsp dried oregano
  1. Step 1

Combine all the ingredients and store in an airtight container for up to a year.

  2. Step 2

To prepare taco meat, brown the ground beef in a skillet and drain.

  3. Step 3

For every pound of ground beef, add 2 Tbsp of the mix and 1/3 cup of water.

  4. Step 4

Bring to a boil and then cook, stirring constantly, for 2 minutes.

on 8/7/2008 Taco night is a last minute staple at our house and I have on more than one occasion went to get the mix out of the pantry at 6 PM and to my horror discovered that there was none left. Now I have a recipe! Thank you so much.
