How to Substitute Light Corn Syrup in a Recipe - for Corn Allergies

The number of individuals with corn allergies is growing at an alarming rate. If you are trying to re-create candies or other recipes that call for corn syrup, don't fret, all you need are a few simple ingredients to make a 1:1 substitute.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • sugar
  • water
  • saucepan
  1. Step 1

    Simple Syrup- Light Corn Syrup Substitute

  2. Step 2

    Ingredients:
    2 cups sugar
    1 cup water

  3. Step 3

    Instructions:

    1. Combine ingredients.
    2. Over medium heat, bring to full boil.
    3. Boil for one minute, or until all sugar particles are dissolved.
    4. Transfer mixture into airtight refrigerator container.
    5. Use to replace corn syrup in recipes or to sweeten iced tea or other beverages.
