Sunburns are definitely miserable to say the least. Learn how to help cool them off.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • ibuprofen
  • moisturizer
  • home made compress
  1. Step 1

Sunburns can be horrible. Take two ibuprofen as soon as possible, to help with the swelling. You make also use plain aspirin, it works just as well.

  2. Step 2

There are many homemade compresses, that you may make, to help relieve the burn. Witch hazel works well, just soak a rag in witch hazel, and apply to the burn. Skim milk is also good for a compress. Use one cup of skim milk to 3 cups of water, and toss in a few ice cubes. Again, soak a rag in the mix and apply to the skin. You may also want to sit in front of a fan, while you apply the compresses, for a little extra relief.

  3. Step 3

If you have a sunburn all over, you might want to soak in a bath instead. Use cool water, and add 2 cups of vinegar, or baking soda, this will also help to cool the burn. When done pat skin dry with a soft towel, and apply plenty of moisturizer. If the burn is bad, you may want to apply a local anesthetic, like solarcaine, for added relief.
