First of all, I always cook rice stove top. It just does not taste the same microwaved. To cook rice, use twice the amount of water as rice. For example, if cooking 1 cup of rice, use 2 cups of water. Heat the water to a boil, and add a little milk to keep the rice creamy.
Step2
After the liquid comes to a boil, add the rice, and cook on low heat until the rice begins to thicken and the water boils away. Now, you simply need to remove the rice from the heat, and let cool for about 5 minutes or so.
Step3
Once you are ready to serve, mix in a little butter, garlic, salt, and a few bacon bits. With a piece of chicken, this is a meal in itself. Especially if you add a veggie, like a heated up can of green beans or sweet peas.
Tips & Warnings
I love to add a little texas pete or tabsaco sauce to my rice to give it that extra kick. Cheese is a great option as well.
