There are so many beautiful buttons in the world. Why just wear them on your clothing? Here's how to make a button ring you'll be proud to wear.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Buttons of your choice
  • Ring blank finding (available at some craft stores and online)
  • Two part epoxy glue (five minute)
  • Metal cutters for removing shanks from the back of buttons
  • Metal file
Step1
Create your design.

Select a beautiful button to serve as the focal point for your ring. If the button has a metal shank attached to the back, use metal cutters to snip it off and a metal file to smooth the back surface so it will lie flat.
Step2
Attach the button to your ring blank.

A ring blank consists of a metal ring that fits around the finger with a small metal disc in the middle for attaching a decorative object. Use two part epoxy glue to attach the button to the middle of the metal disc.
Step3
Allow the glue to set.

Allow your freshly glued button to dry in a warm, dry area for several hours before handling.

Tips & Warnings

  • Try gluing buttons on top of one another and then attaching them to the disc on the ring blank for a different look.
  • If you use shankless buttons with holes in the middle, use rhinestones or other small stones to cover the holes.
