give your baby a unique name
give your baby a unique name

Your baby is one of a kind. Why shouldn't he or she have a name just as unique as he or she is? With a little thought and imagination you baby can have a name just as original as they are.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • baby
  • imagination
  1. Step 1

When considering names for your child don't be intimidated if you've never met someone with that name before. That can actually be a good thing. You are less likely to have a bad association with that name. Another tip is to not discuss your ideas for baby names with anyone except for the other parent of the child. Choosing a baby name can be very difficult and everyone will have an opinion.

  2. Step 2

Celebrities have been known to give their children unusual names. These names have then gone on to be wildly popular. So why should celebrities be the only trend setters? One example of this is the name Neveah. It is actually Heaven spelled backwards. At one time this name was unheard of until Sonny Sandoval, lead singer of the band POD named his daughter Neveah. Eight years later Neveah is now the 70th most popular name in the U.S. He's not the first celebrity to give his child a unique name. In fact, there are many celebrities who have stepped out of the box. Some examples of baby names chosen by celebrities are Indiana, Satchel, Lyric, Sosie, Cruz, Seven, Zowie, Coco, Alabama, Ireland, Mateo, Arpad, Kal-El, Audio, Sailor, Calico, Blue Angel, Wynter, Raine, Fifi-Trixibelle, Little Pixie, Peaches Honeyblossom, Poet, Bluebell, Sage, Paris, Prince Michael, Heavenly, Moxie Crimefighter, Shiloh Nouvel, Kenya, Liberty, Saffron, Pilot, Tallulah, Ryder, Lone Skye, Apple, Speck Wildhorse, Daisy Boo, Poppy Honey, Shephard, Fuchsia, Banjo, True, Ocean, Rumer, Scout, Diva Muffin, and Moon Unit

  3. Step 3

How do I begin? First cast off any preconceived notions. Get out a paper and pen and start writing out words and names you like the sound of. Feeling a little blank? Visit your spice rack or flip through an atlas. Look at a color wheel. Take out a book on animals or birds at your local library. After a few minutes you should see a couple that stand out to you. Now do you like the way they are spelled? Don't be afraid to change the spelling or to take the words apart and compound them with other words.

  4. Step 4

To help get your creative juices flowing I will include some ideas for names.

Amethyst, Cerise, Lemon, Magenta, Sapphire and Wisteria
