Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Now that I have a rice cooker that seldom happens, and the rice that cooks up in there is delicious.
If you do not cook rice that often that maybe you may think a rice cooker is an appliance that will take up space in your kitchen and waste money. If you cook it a lot then it can be a great addition to your kitchen. There are a few things to keep in mind when you are purchasing a rice cooker. These are some tips to remember when you are choosing one out of the many you will find on the market today.
Step2
SIZE
Depending on the amount of rice you will be cooking each time there are different sizes that will fit your need the best. If you are a small family then they have very small rice cookers. Then if you have a large family they have medium to larger quantities of rice cookers available for you. Make sure that you buy the size that best suits your family needs.
Step3
THE OVERALL TYPE OF RICE COOKER
Depending on your budget and how often you will use it should determine the type that you buy. The basic rice cooker may not be as fancy looking as the top of the line ones or even the computer controlled ones. Although they work great and will cost you around $30 or less normally.
Step4
Next you have the computer controlled ones that cost more and have added features. Typically these ones have a simple button that you push to cook the rice and the steam does not get all over the counter because there is an added feature that catches the steam unlike the basic models. They are also more appealing to look at and you can even place it on your table with a handle that many of them have unlike the basic models. These models can cost up to $250 for computer controlled ones.
Step5
Rice cookers will last you a long time as long as you properly take care of them. The rice does not taste any better or worse according to the rice cooker itself. They can be a great addition to any kitchen that cooks a lot of rice.
