1. A well thought out plan is needed and a budget (depending on how much you want to spend)
   Clear all unwanted items and debris from the yard, including trees, bushes etc. Have the family join in and help.

2. Once that's done begin by arranging items around the yard. Mark of areas where you want a garden or a special reading place. Make sure to include an outside water fountain and patio lights.

3. Replace the sod with new sod, giving it time to settle. Plant new trees and bushes. Create a flower garden of your choice. Don't forget to include butterfly bushes. Then buy som new furniture and accessories for your new backyard retreat.
