    Instructions

    Things You'll Need

    • Snap clip barrettes
    • Glass beads
    • 1/4-inch satin ribbon
    • Moldable beading wire
    • Anti-fray fabric spray
    • Scissors
      • 1

Cut a 24-inch length of beading wire. Wrap one end of the beading wire around one arm of the closed end of the snap clip barrette. Fasten the wire at the back of the clip by twisting it together four times so that the wire sits snugly around the arm.

      • 2

Fold the twisted wire end so it lies flat against the back of the barrette, pointing down the length of the barrette arm.

      • 3

String the glass beads on the wire so they sit at the front of the barrette. Wrap the bare wire around the back of the barrette arm so that no beads are sitting at the back of the barrette and pull the wire to the front of the barrette again. String more beads onto the wire, continuing in the manner previously described and moving down the arm, until the front of the barrette arms are completely covered with beads.

Tie the wire off at the back of barrette. Wrap the end of the wire through the back of the last loop of wire four times, trim the wire to 1/2 inch, and weave the end under the wire wrapped around the back of the barrette arm to hold it in place.

Cut a 6-inch piece of satin ribbon. Spray the ends of the ribbon with anti-fray spray to prevent the ends of the ribbon from unraveling.

Feed one end of the ribbon under one strand of the wire on the beaded side of the barrette. Tie the ribbon in a bow with a double knot to hold it in place.
