If you make and sell handcrafted jewelry, you need fresh ideas for marketing your creations. Here are some ways to sell your jewelry more effectively.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Enlist your friends to wear your jewelry.

If you have friends that work in an office with lots of fashionable women, give them pieces to wear to work with them. If your friend makes a sale or gets a custom order for you, offer her free jewelry or a commission.

  2. Step 2

    Create jewelry sets.

Jewelry sets usually sell better than individual pieces plus they allow you to sell more jewelry at with one sale. Make sets of bracelets and necklaces or bracelets and earrings, or all three and watch your sales go up.

  3. Step 3

Design with clothing trends in mind.

Adapt your jewelry designs so that they coordinate with the latest clothing fashions. When you set up your jewelry at craft shows, make a display with a fashionable piece of clothing coordinated with your jewelry to give people ideas on how to wear your jewelry.

  4. Step 4

Add lots of mirrors and encourage touching.

People are much more likely to buy a piece of jewelry if they're allowed to touch it and try it on. Make it easy by encouraging people to pick up your jewelry. Always give them easy access to a mirror.

  5. Step 5

Create an incentive to buy more.

Offer a discount or an additional item if people purchase a certain number of your jewelry designs. This is a very effective method for selling handcrafted jewelry. People love to get something for nothing!
