We are in a desperate predicament in this country: we all need gas to go to work, to get our groceries and other items delivered to stores, and to carry on our daily lives. We need more gas, not less, yet we are paying more than we ever have before, even though we have our own oil fields. The worst part of it is, we're buying gas, in many instances, from people in countries who want us dead. Here are some ways to alleviate the "pain at the pump" and stop putting money into the pockets of our sworn enemies.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Gas money
  • Common Sense
  • A list of American Oil Only gas stations (see below)
  1. Step 1

Buy gas early in the morning, when the ground temperature is cold. All the gas is stored underground, and when it is colder, it is more dense, so you literally get more gas for your money. Even one degree fahrenheit of temperature makes a difference.

  2. Step 2

When you're filling up, do not squeeze the trigger of the nozzle to a fast mode. The trigger has three stages: low, middle, and high. In slow mode you should be pumping on low speed, thereby minimizing the vapors that are created while you are pumping. All hoses at the pump have a vapor return. If you are pumping fast, some other liquid that goes to your tank becomes vapor. Those vapors are being sucked up and back into the underground storage tank, so you're getting less worth for your money. The gas station ends up keeping part of the gas you just paid for!

  3. Step 3

Fill up when your gas tank is HALF FULL or HALF EMPTY. The reason for this is, the more gas you have in your tank, the less air is occupying its empty space. Gasoline evaporates really, really fast. Gasoline storage tanks have an internal floating roof. This roof serves as zero clearance between the gas and the atmosphere, so it minimizes the evaporation. This is important. It ensures that you get the whole gallon that you paid for. When you fill up an empty tank, a lot of the evaporated gas goes to waste.

  4. Step 4

If there is a gasoline truck filling the storage tanks when you stop to buy gas, DO NOT fill up--go to another station, as, most likely, the gasoline is being stirred up as the gas is being delivered, and you might pick up some of the crud and foreign particles that normally settle on the bottom of the storage tank.

  5. Step 5

Saudi Arabia is boycotting American goods. We should return the favor and stop buying Saudi petroleum products. The Department of Energy has a list of who buys oil where, and I have included a partial list below:

  6. Step 6

These companies import Middle Eastern oil:

    Shell............................ 205,742,000 barrels

    Chevron/Texaco......... 144,332,000 barrels

    Exxon /Mobil............... 130,082,000 barrels

    Marathon/Speedway... 117,740,000 barrels

    Amoco............................62,231,000 barrels

Citgo gas is from South America , from a Dictator who hates Americans.

  7. Step 7

Here are some large companies that do not import Middle Eastern oil:

    Sunoco..................0 barrels

    Conoco..................0 barrels

    Sinclair.................0 barrels

    BP/Phillips............0 barrels

    Hess.......................0 barrels

    ARCO....................0 barrels

If you go to Sunoco. com, you will get a list of the station locations near you.

Tips & Warnings
  • Drive at or around the speed limit. This saves more gas than you would believe.
  • Keep your tires at the proper air pressure and keep your car tuned up and change the oil regularly. This affects your gas mileage, too.
  • Try to combine trips as much as you can, and if you can carpool, do so. Make sure the people you carpool with have a list of non-foreign oil companies, too.
  • Open the windows instead of using the air conditioner as much as possible, and keep an afghan or a jacket in the car so you don't have to use the heat so much. It saves a lot of gas just to do simple steps like this.
  • Don't give money to people who are trying to kill you, your family, and all of your neighbors. It's stupid.
