1. Take a hard realistic look at the snacks you have in your pantry or refrigerator. Pull one out and look at the calorie content. Teeny tiny print - use glasses or magnifying lens if needed. Find a snack or goodie that has 250 calories or more listed on it.
Step2
2. Take mental note of how many times you eat this or drink this snack. For instance - if you have 4 sodas a day - notice, the soda is 220 calories. If you usually eat 3 instant oatmeals a day - notice, one of the packets is approximately 200 calories. Do you really "need" all of that? You can still have it - but make a minor tweak.
Step3
Scale back slightly. Instead of drastically changing the way you snack or eat everyday - make a teeny tiny change. " Baby Steps" Remember "Bob"? Instead of 4 sodas a day - just have 3 . Substitute a light drink or water for that normal 4th soda. Instead of 3 packets of oatmeal - scale back to 2 packets and add fresh fruit to that oatmeal.
