Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Things You’ll Need:
- 12 lasagna noodles, uncooked
- 1 pound ground beef, browned
- 1 med onion, browned with ground beef
- 2-4 cloves of minced garlic (optional)
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 2 jars (28 ounces) spaghetti sauce
- 1 carton (24 ounces) cottage cheese
- 2 cups mozzarella cheese, grated
- 1 cup Parmesan cheese
Step1
Brown the ground beef with the onion and drain. Add the Italian seasoning to the ground beef, set aside.
Step2
Break noodles in half. Place half of the noodles in the bottom of a greased 4-quart slow cooker.
TIP: Put a tiny bit of ground beef between the noodles so they don't form a big noodle mass at the bottom.
Step3
Spread half the ground beef over the noodles in the slow cooker and spread half the minced garlic (optional) over the beef.
Step4
Over the beef, layer 1 jar of spaghetti sauce, half the cottage cheese, half the mozzarella cheese and half the Parmesan cheese. TIP: Place more of the cheeses in the middle as they will spread toward the edges during cooking.
Step5
Repeat layers starting with the noodles.
Step6
Cover and cook on low heat 4 to 5 hours.
