Things You'll Need:
- Nails, Saw.
-
Step 1
To stop fence posts from rotting (especially in England where I live) you can buy expensive wooden ball shapes for the top of your fence posts.
However a cheap alternative if you can source the old wood is table legs. -
Step 2
Find some old table legs which have been machined into ball like shapes.
Cut these off and sand them down. Drill and secure on top of your fence post with a sawn off screw (this is so it will screw in to the bottom of the ball and to the top of the post.) -
Step 3
Always stain to correct colour and remove any varnish before staining.

on 6/14/2008 It actually seems too involved for me because I'm not a machine type person, but I tell you it sounds like a good and creative idea.
