Since many people spend a lot of their spare time online, they like to find new ways to express their thoughts and creativity. One method to do this involves starting a virtual journal or blog. Your entries go live and you can choose to share your experiences with the world. You can create a free LiveJournal in a few easy steps.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy
Step1
Create your username. If you've not already joined LiveJournal, you'll have to register before recording in your personal journal. On the homepage of the site, find the "Create a Journal" link to get started.
Step2
Fill in all fields on the registration page. You can create your LiveJournal account by giving the site your email address, password and birth date. You'll also have to opt whether to receive the LiveJournal newsletter.
Step3
Set up your journal. Pick your journal's layout and give information for your profile page. All fields are optional, but you can include location, age, gender, music tastes, favorite books, hobbies and more. You can also write a little blurb about yourself, telling more about your likes and dislikes.
Step4
Save your progress. Before you create any new entries, save all of the information you provided to LiveJournal.
Step5
Post a new entry. After you finish setup, you're redirected to a page that allows you to post a new journal entry. Remember to adjust your account settings if needed before you submit.

Tips & Warnings

  • If your username's unavailable, you'll have to pick a new one until you find one that's not in use. Try to add special characters and numbers to make your username unique.
  • You'll have to create a password which includes a number. LiveJournal requires a difficult password in order to protect your privacy.
