Buy gift cards in your local stores and use them when shopping at their online site. Walmart, Walgreen's, Toys R Us and many other major retailers sell gift cards in their store that can be used for shopping online.

Pay with an e-check. Some online shopping sites can process an e-check for you as payment for your purchase. An e-check is the same as writing them a check, but you do not have to mail it. Provide them with the necessary information and they process your check electronically.

When you shop online and pay for your purchase with a credit card, you are protected by the Buyer's Protection coverage on your credit card. The same is true of many, but not all debit cards. However, when you pay for an item with a check, that is equivalent to paying with cash. You have no protection if your purchase goes bad. Always buy from reputable online merchants only.
