How to Shave With Only a Razor and Water

If you have ever found yourself with legs, face or other skin that need a shaving but no shaving cream, soap or anything else to shave with, you might have considered shaving with only water and a razor. This method might cause irritation, but follow these steps to shave with only water and a razor and get the best results possible. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Get the skin wet with hot water. The water needs to be as hot as you can stand to open up your pores and soften your hair. Ideally, the skin you are shaving should be under running water.

    • 2

Shave the skin with a new razor blade. Only press the blade onto your skin as needed to shave the hair. If you press as hard as you normally would when using shave gel, you will probably cut yourself. Be extremely careful with going over bumps such as a chin or knees.

    • 3

Wet the skin with cold water when you are through shaving. This will close the pores back up and reduce your chances of irritation and bumps.

    • 4

Moisturize the skin if you have any lotion. However, if you do have lotion, you could use that to shave with instead of water. Aloe Vera gel will also help reduce irritation and redness.

Tips & Warnings

  • Before shaving with only water and a razor, look around your house to make sure there is nothing else you could use to shave, such as dish soap, bar soap, shampoo, conditioner or bubble bath.

  • Don't ever shave without water. A dry shave will usually result in very painful irritation.
