Directions for the "Harry Potter & the Sorcerer's Stone" Trivia Game

"Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone Trivia Game" is based on the J.K. Rowling book of the same name. It's in a board game format, but players only advance if they can answer questions from the world of Harry Potter. Some sample questions are "Where does Harry Potter get his first chess set" and "How long has Hagrid had the desire to own a dragon?"

Select a sorting hat card to determine your Hogwarts House. Have each player roll the die. The player with the highest number goes first.

Roll the die and move the corresponding number of spaces clockwise around the board.

Take a spell card if you pass over or land on a spell square. If you land on a category square, the player to your left picks up a question card and reads you the question that corresponds to the symbol on the board.

Take two charm cards for answering correctly without the use of multiple choice and one charm card if you guess right after being read all of the possible answers. If you answer incorrectly, take a curse card.

Play the Hermione card on another player's turn if you think that player does not know the answer to the question but you do. The Hermione card must be played before the multiple choice answers are read. If that other player answers incorrectly, you get to answer the question and he has to take a curse card. If the player is right, he receives two charm cards and you keep your Hermione card.

Follow the directions on the spell or curse card. Reinsert the card on the bottom of the deck and the next player will take his turn. Use a counter-spell card to defend yourself against another player's spell or curse.

Avoid detention if you can. The four detention areas include the Dungeon, the Forbidden Forest, the Hospital Wing, and the Trophy Room. To get out of detention, you must produce a card that releases you from the area, wait the required three turns, or roll a number indicated on the board.

Play until one player collects six different charm cards and answer one last question at "Hogwarts House." That player is the winner.
