How to Modify Font Properties of Text in a PDF File

Sometimes it's necessary to modify the font of a text in a PDF file during a final proofreading. The TouchUp text tool is a feature that allows you to make changes line by line regarding the size, color and spacing of your text in a PDF file.

Make TouchUp tools Visible

1. Decide which PDF file you want to edit and open it.
2. Select the View option. From its menus choose "Toolbars," then "Advanced Editing."
3. Look for a pull down menu near the TouchUp Text Tool. Click on it.
4. Search for the option "Show TouchUp Toolbar." There are non-stationary toolbars. To get them to remain where you want them, select "View." Then click "Toolbars" and "Dock All Toolbars."

5. Select the "TouchUp Text" tool.
6. Drag a highlight box over the group of text you want to change the font of.
7. Right-click over the highlighted text to see a menu box.
8. Choose the "Properties" option, then another menu appears. Click the "Font" option.
9. Wait as the Acrobat program searches for all of the fonts that have been installed.
10. Select any other editing feature you want at this point, as well the font. You can experiment because what ever changes you make can immediately be seen in the highlighted text. So, you can undo anything you don't like as you go along.
11. Enter the text in its original file program or send the text to a word processor if it does handle the changes well, as in the changes are not legible. Choose the "Close" option when finished to have the new settings applied permanently to text.
