There are pageants all over the country for contestants of any age. Approach the contest with a positive attitude and reasonable expectations. Only a few contestants will win, so do your best, have fun, meet new people and go away with a sense of satisfaction no matter the outcome. Be prepared with appropriate clothing to model pageant sportswear and knowledge of how to model it effectively.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Wear sportswear and accessories that fit your interest and personality. The judges rate you on personality and this is a chance for yours to shine.

  2. Step 2

Walk with the energy you would use to compete in your sport and let the judges see a positive attitude. Take long strides and don't use a fake walk; natural is what the judges are looking for.

  3. Step 3

Maintain good posture and show off your figure when you model pageant sportswear. Put your head up high, pull the shoulders back but downward, suck in your stomach and put one foot in front of the other as you walk the runway.

  4. Step 4

Let your arms fall naturally to your sides and sway them forward and backward as you walk. Fold your fingers slightly and let them brush your thighs.

  5. Step 5

Change the way you position your arms and hands if you carry sports equipment when you model pageant sportswear. If you have a ball or tennis racket, practice holding it and have someone video tape your walk to determine what looks best.

  6. Step 6

Relax, smile naturally and wave to connect with the audience. Leave the impression you're enjoying the pageant.

  7. Step 7

Model your pageant sportswear with confidence. When you carry yourself with confidence, it has a positive impact on the audience and judges.

Tips & Warnings
  • Don't carry a heavy bag or equipment that pulls you to one side.
