There is nothing as relaxing as a luxurious bath, but to make it even better, take natural mood enhancing baths using aromatherapy and your favorite scents. The scents can be natural, such as rose petals or pine needles or in the form of extracts or oils.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Warm or hot bath
  • Scented oil, extract, pine needles or flower petals of your choice
  • Scented candle, optional
  1. Step 1

Fill your bathtub with warm to hot water.

  2. Step 2

Place approximately 1/4 cup of an extract, such as vanilla, or the same amount of scented oil into the bath water. The scent of vanilla is reviving and lifts the spirit.

  3. Step 3

Lie down and let yourself relax in the bathwater.

  4. Step 4

Experience the mood enhancing feeling of the vanilla as the aroma surrounds you.

  5. Step 5

Allow yourself to luxuriate in the bathwater before ending your bath.

Tips & Warnings
  • Use a sachet bag, or cut off the foot of a pair of pantyhose, and fill it with pine needles, rose petals or mixed flower petals. Hang, or tie, the bag under the faucet as you fill the bathtub. As the water hydrates the flower petals or pine needles in the bag, the scent will fill the area.
  • Float extra rose or flower petals on top of your bath water, and light a scented candle for a more complete mood enhancing bath.
  • Some wonderful scents to use in your mood-enhancing bath include peppermint, rosemary or eucalyptus for energy, lavender, sage or chamomile to relieve stress and sandalwood, jasmine or ylang ylang for serenity. To set a romantic mood, use cinnamon, bergamot or French vanilla.
  • Use 1 scent at a time or combine scents to create your personal scent for added pleasure.
