Things You'll Need:
- Light bulbs
- Rubbing alcohol
- Cotton ball
- Acrylic paint
- Paint brushes
- Markers
- Red fabric
- Glue
- Pipe cleaner
- Jingle bell or pom-pom
-
Step 1
Get an empty toilet paper roll and clean it well. If you don't have an empty toilet paper roll, you can cut a paper towel roll to the size of a toilet paper roll.
-
Step 2
Gather a hole punch for punching holes for the arms and legs, regular white glue, scissors and four white or flesh colored pipe cleaners for the arms and legs.
-
Step 3
Cut a piece of red construction paper so that it fits perfectly around the toilet paper roll, which is the body of the ornament. Also, cut a pair of small mittens and boots out of black construction paper, making them small enough so they'll glue onto the ends of the pipe cleaners. Cut out a circular shape for Santa's head and face.
-
Step 4
Finish gathering the ornament supplies by finding some black ribbon for a belt and gold felt for a belt buckle. Grab a couple of markers for drawing Santa's face and cotton balls for Santa's beard, and you're done gathering supplies.
-
Step 1
Save your burned out light bulbs throughout the year to make painted glass Santa ornaments.
-
Step 2
Get alcohol and a cotton ball for cleaning the light bulb. Use white, red and flesh colored acrylic paints.
-
Step 3
Gather paint brushes in different sizes and markers in blue and black. The markers are for drawing on the eyes and texture of the beard.
-
Step 4
Use red fabric for the hat, which can be an old sock, stocking or glove. The hat trim supplies can be cotton, fleece, felt or old material.
-
Step 5
Have glue, a white pipe cleaner and a small jingle bell or white pom-pom on hand for the hat. Use the pipe cleaner to make the crooked Santa hat and use the glue to attach the bell or pom-pom.
