Whether your hair is dry, oily, frizzy or all the above, there is a way to create salon shampoo scalp treatments at home to treat all these hair conditions. These treatments have the same results as pricey salon treatments. Here are some common hair and scalp problems and how to treat them.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Tea tree oil
  • Jojoba oil
  • Deep conditioning treatment
  • Large hair clips
  • Shower cap
  1. Step 1

Mix in tea tree oil, which is an anti-microbial oil and is a main ingredient in expensive salon shampoos used to treat dandruff and itchy scalp. A small bottle is relatively inexpensive and lasts a long time. Add five to ten drops of tea tree oil to your bottle of shampoo.

  2. Step 2

Massage your scalp if it's oily. There's no need to spend loads of money on fancy salon shampoo scalp treatments for oily hair. All you have to do is massage your scalp for three to five minutes with your regular shampoo and rinse. Repeat this process, and leave the shampoo on for five minutes before rinsing.

  3. Step 3

Add Jojoba oil to your shampoo to treat dry scalp and hair. Jojoba oil by itself is much cheaper than salon shampoos containing Jojoba oil. Add five to ten drops of Jojoba oil to your regular shampoo to get the same effect as expensive salon shampoos to treat dry hair.

  4. Step 4

Get salon quality treatment for dry hair and scalp by purchasing an inexpensive deep conditioning treatment. After shampooing, massage the deep conditioning treatment into your hair and scalp. Clip your hair up using large hair clips and cover your head with a shower cap. Rinse out after five minutes.

Tips & Warnings
  • Be sure to use the shower cap when using a deep conditioning treatment in your hair. The shower cap works to trap the heat from the shower inside the cap and has the same effect as if you were sitting under the dryer at the salon.
  • Always test essential oils on your skin before adding them to your shampoo. Essential oils can be irritating to the skin so be sure to test a small area on your hand before adding it to your shampoo and applying it to your entire head.
