How to Make Creative Gifts

There are a variety of unique and creative gifts you and your kids can make at home. You can scrapbook hand-crafted place mats, make your own paper and craft a unique and one-of-a-kind journal for the writer in your life. You can also your digital camera to make your own artwork.

Instructions

1. Mix water and shredded paper into a blender. Pulse until the mixture is pulp-like in texture. Spread the mix on a screen to dry. Write a creative saying or bind several sheets together to make a journal or an address book to give as a creative gift.

2. Create a kitchen-themed scrap book. Fill it with your favorite recipes and include stories about making the recipes for other family members. This is a great gift for a newly married couple or a young person moving into in his first place.

3. Lay out a sheet of paper and let your kids decorate it with colored paper, ribbon, embellishments or photographs. Have them write personal messages and draw pictures. Laminate their work to make creative place mats.

4. Take photographs of landscapes you find attractive. Have the photographs enlarged, matted and framed to make creative and unique artwork.

5. Start with several photographs of your children throughout the years and mount them in a large frame. Include their accomplishments and share it with relatives who aren't able to visit your family frequently.
