Things You'll Need:
- 8-1/2 inch by 11 inch sheet of paper
- Small paper clip
-
Step 1
Fold an 8-1/2 x 11-inch sheet of paper in half lengthwise and crease.
-
Step 2
Unfold the paper and lay it on a flat surface the long sides to the left and right and the crease on the bottom.
-
Step 3
Grab the two top corners of the paper and bring them toward the crease. Align them so they meet at the crease, making two triangles at the top of the paper. Crease the triangles so they lie flat.
-
Step 4
Take the two creases you just made and bring them toward the center crease, taking care that the two sides are aligned along the center crease you made in Step 1. Crease the paper so it again lies flat. This is the long, thin fuselage of your airplane.
-
Step 5
Turn the paper over and fold in half along the center crease. Fold the top side down to make a flap. One half to two-thirds of the flap should extend beyond the center crease.
-
Step 6
Flip the paper over and fold another flap the same size as the first. Align the edges of the flaps so they are even. These are the wings of the airplane.
-
Step 7
Pick the airplane up, holding it by the fuselage. Push the wings up until they are perpendicular to the fuselage.
-
Step 8
Place a small paperclip at the back of the fuselage to hold it together.
-
Step 9
Take the corner of the left wing and fold it upward to make a 1-inch tip. Make a 1-inch tip that points downward by folding the back corner of the right wing.
-
Step 10
Launch your airplane from your hand. It will whirl in a clockwise direction as it flies.
