How to Make a Spitter From a Soda Can
With almost nowhere to smoke anymore, more and more people are turning to smokeless tobacco as an alternative way to get a nicotine fix. Now that you've got your chew, you need somewhere to spit that is not the carpet or sink. Making a "spitter" out of a soda can is an essential skill needed by anybody that dips or chews tobacco.

1
Choose a can. Beer cans work best, but any type of can will do.
-
2
Cut a larger hole into the can. You can do this in one of two ways. If the can is sturdy, put the tip of your elbow into the mouth of the can and push at a downward angle. If done correctly, you will make the hole bigger without bending the can. If you have a Coke or Pepsi can, use a key to poke a hole near the mouth of the can. Work it towards the mouth of the can; this will make the hole bigger.

3
Give your can an identifiable mark. The last thing you want is someone mistaking your spitter for a beer or soda and drinking it. Use a marker to color on part of the can or put your name on it.
-
4
Get a top for it. Many convenience stores sell tops you can put on a can and turn it into a spitter that won't spill. They sell for about $1.50 and are a great investment if you chew regularly.

5
Throw it away when you are done because spitters get smelly quickly. People also tend to forget them the next day and that is when they get spilled.
