How to Make Glitter Tape

Be creative and decorate with glitter tape. You can use glitter tape for scrapbooking, decorating candles, your locker or just about anything. You do not have to go out and hunt for it at a crafts store, or settle for colors you do not necessarily want. Make your own glitter tape with regular clear tape and glitter or glitter glue.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Clear tape
  • Glitter glue
  • Flat surface

    Make Glitter Tape with Glitter

  1. Step 1

    Pour a generous amount of glitter in the color or colors of your choice onto a paper plate or other flat surface.

  2. Step 2

    Place a piece of double-sided tape into the glitter. Make sure the entire surface of one side of the tape is completely covered in glitter.

  3. Step 3

    Remove the tape from the glitter and shake it to remove all the excess loose glitter from the tape.

  4. Step 4

    Examine the glitter tape to make sure there are not empty spots on the tape. If so, fill them by re-dipping it into the glitter.

  5. Make Glitter Tape With Glitter Glue

  6. Step 1

    Take a desired length of clear tape and place it lightly onto a flat surface such as a table top.

  7. Step 2

    Squirt glitter glue onto the tape and smooth it out with your finger until it is even and the tape is totally covered.

  8. Step 3

    Wait until the glitter glue is completely dry as per the label's instructions.

  9. Step 4

    Gently remove the tape and it is ready to use.

Tips & Warnings
  • Mix up glitter and glitter glue to make new colors and different designs.
