Things You'll Need:
- Angel template
- Paper clip
- Scissors
- Heavy paper
- Glue
-
Step 1
Cut a piece of construction paper or card stock into a 5 1/2 x 3-inch square. Draw a dotted line down the middle of the card along with two small squares on either side of the line, about 2 inches down the paper. This is the area where the angel's tabs go when you complete the card.
-
Step 2
Draw two 3 x 3-inch angel templates on construction paper or card stock. Draw the angels from a side view with their wings facing opposite directions, their arms reaching toward each other and the body shape as a gown.
-
Step 3
Give the angel whose wings point to the left, a circle shaped head, but do not give the angel on the right a head. In place of a head, draw a small, upside down triangle slit, about a 1/4 inch down, between the arm and wing. Draw a similar slit in the middle of the dress on the other angel, about 1 inch long.
-
Step 4
Make a small, diagonal dotted line, about a 1/4 inch long, on the left side of the dress. Do the same on the right side of the dress on the other angel. These are your glue tabs for when you complete the card.
-
Step 1
Press along the dotted lines of the angel template. Use a paper clip or other blunt object so you have good indentations on the template.
-
Step 2
Cut out the template, following the solid black lines. Fold the tabs toward the body and crease well. Fold the tabs back out to the original position.
-
Step 3
Place the angel's head piece on top of the body piece so that the wings are pointing back. Connect the two pieces so that the arms are straight out in front, like they're reaching out for you.
-
Step 4
Fold the card stock in half, crease it well and then open it again.
-
Step 5
Apply glue on both sides of the crease onto the little squares. Glue the tabs on the angel to the card so that the angel lies flat. Once the glue dries, fold the card, helping the pop-up angel to lie flat inside.
-
Step 6
Open the card and see the pop-up angel.
