You can create your own lavender potpourri by adding fresh lavender flowers to other natural products, such as small twigs, berries or pine cones. Add some leaves and dried flowers to create a decorative potpourri that is as pretty to look at as it is to smell.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Select a container to display your lavender potpourri. You can place it in a shallow bowl or a vase you can place on a table or a bookshelf.

  2. Step 2

Locate some filler objects for your potpourri. You can use leaves, twigs, pine cones in their entirety or in pieces. Add dried berries for a colorful touch. Most craft stores also sell potpourri filler if you opt not to make your own.

  3. Step 3

Scent your filler with a few drops of lavender oil. Stir well to distribute the oil evenly. Shaking it up your potpourri in a large plastic bag is the easiest way to do this.

  4. Step 4

Toss in your fresh lavender flowers and pour your potpourri into its display container.

Tips & Warnings
  • Look for fillers that are either similar to the color of your lavender, or have a natural hue.
  • Freshen the scent of your lavender potpourri by adding a few drops of lavender oil and stirring it well. You can also periodically add fresh lavender flowers.
